After more than a year in the shelter system, 2024 marked a life-changing transition for Cora-Lee: moving into her own home at SHOW. Life in the shelter meant constant vigilance and little sense of safety. At SHOW, that changed.
“When I first moved in, I was welcomed. Everybody was friendly, really nice, and sweet,” she says. With stable housing and supportive staff, Cora-Lee finally had the space to think about her future.
As a transgender woman, she has found acceptance and affirmation at SHOW and is now preparing for gender-affirming surgery. “It’s okay to be who you want to be,” she shares.
Today, Cora-Lee is building a life rooted in safety, dignity, and possibility — a powerful reminder of what supportive housing makes possible
