Moving for Good: A Walk with Purpose

On Sunday, September 21st, over 60 community members gathered at The Cedars in Waterloo for the third annual Moving for Good: The Walk to End Chronic Homelessness. Hosted by the Lynn Macaulay Legacy Project (LMLP) and benefiting SHOW, the event was a powerful reminder of what community can achieve when we walk with purpose.

Together, we raised over $13,000 to support life skills programming, wrap-around supports, and the early-stage planning for future housing opportunities at 362 and 144 Erb Streets—projects that align with Lynn Macaulay’s vision of a compassionate, housing-first approach to ending chronic homelessness.

In addition to the walk, participants enjoyed light refreshments, meaningful conversation, and a lively silent auction, featuring locally donated items and experiences.

There’s Still Time to Give

While the event may be over, the impact continues—and donations are still being accepted until October 5th. Every dollar supports older adults transitioning out of homelessness into stable, supportive housing through SHOW’s vital programs.

Thank you to the LMLP for their tireless work organizing this event, to every walker who showed up, and to each donor who gave from the heart. Your support is helping SHOW build more than housing—it’s helping build home, community, and hope
